Residential

Monday 19th June 2017

Year 4 arrived safe and sound and had a lovely lunch before embarking on an orienteering course around the grounds of Ilam.

Once we had had a little sit down and had recovered from our walk, we went to our rooms and made our beds. Then it was time to eat. We cleared away our plates. After a lovely meal, we made plastic bottle rockets. We had to put an egg in the rocket and keep it safe when we launched it. When we tested them, they shot very high into the air. Only two eggs survived. It was great fun.

After all of this, we showered and got ready for bed.

Some of us were up bright and early this morning. After breakfast, we packed our bags and set off for Bunster Hill. We climbed most of the hill and then took a walk through the fields to Dovedale. Most people loved walking over the stepping stones. In the afternoon, we went fossil hunting and then walked back through the fields to Ilam Hall.

After we ate another lovely meal of pizza and chips, we went into the woods hunting for mini beasts. We then had to make them a hotel. Some mini beasts had even moved in before we left!

After such a busy day, we went to bed a little earlier than yesterday.

Today, nobody was up bright and early. We had to pack away our luggage and unmake the beds. Breakfast was cereal or bacon and sausages. We went back to the woods for team building challenges. It taught us a lot about working together.

Then we had lunch and a last walk around the grounds before getting on the coach to come home.
