St Chad's Day Pilgrimage

Monday 3 March 2014

World Book Day

March 6th was World Book Day and all the children made a fantastic effort to dress up as their favourite book character to celebrate a love of reading.  Classes were involved in a variety of activities although some had trouble recognising their teachers!

Year 6 visit William Farr

Year 6 had been called upon by William Farr to solve a crime - who had murdered Mr Stones?  The class took part in different Scientific activities to help identify the murderer and how the crime had been committed.  These included: maggot-racing, identifying bullets and DNA, examining blood splatters and a heart, fingerprinting and testing chemicals and metals.  It was great fun and huge thanks go to all the Year 11 and sixth formers at William Farr.

Reception's visit to Welton Library

Reception enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at Welton Library where we made bear ears, before going on an exciting bear hunt.  We then chose our own books to bring home and finished the afternoon with a surprise trip on the bus back to school!
