The children have requested they write stories. This can have any theme. If you would like some ideas, this could be fairy stories or the legend of the Lincoln Imp.

In your writing, look at the four different types of sentences and sentence openers to make your story more interesting. 

Openers might be: Suddenly, At the end of the day, Under the tree

Sentences: Question, Exclamation, Command and Statement.

Spelling Rules 

Children can revise the following spelling rules:

Words with the sound spelt ei eigh or ey (vein, weigh, eight, neighbour, they, obey).

Possessive apostrophes for plural words (girls', boys', babies' children's, mens').

Year 3 / 4 statutory word list from terms 1 to 4 (see Year 3 class page).

As a challenge, you might like to put the words into sentences.

Children can read the books from school or books from home. You might like to review the book and tell us what you enjoyed and who your favourite character was.

The big question you might like to think about is, 'what makes our world a beautiful place?' As Easter approaches, you might like to also read the Easter story. 


Can you design a picture that shows the world that you think God wished to create? 



This term, we have been looking at settlements. The focus was to build a bridge. Children might like to complete a project related to this. You could build a bridge, draw a range of bridges or research bridges from around the world.
