Q&A

How can we find out how you're getting on? I will update twitter as much as possible (at least every night) and let school know so we can inform you, either through twitter, this webpage or parenthub) that we have arrived safely and when we have departed.

What do we need to bring? There is a guide of the types of things that you will need in the information shared above. Exact kit lists will be given nearer the time.

What is the food like? There will be several different options for all meals and they will be able to accommodate for different dietary requirements. Ilam Hall are used to providing food for groups of children so know what children like and dislike!! Once we have a confirmed menu for the visit, I'll let you know.

Can we bring money? I would suggest that you bring a maximum of £10, there is a small gift shop to buy things like pencils and notepads.

Can we bring phones/tablets? No electronic devices are allowed to be brought, we wouldn't want them to get lost or broken. There is limited phone signal and wifi is restricted to the main building for group leaders. We won't have much free time to use them anyway, try chatting, playing 'real' games, reading and using your imagination instead!

I am struggling to afford to pay but I still want my child to go what can I do? Contact Mrs Wallace in the office to discuss different payment options including paying by installments.

Who will my child be sharing a room with? This is one of the areas that most thought and consideration is given to by the staff leading the visit. Children will be given a chance to choose 3 people who they would like to share a room with and we try to guarantee at least one of those people. Friendship groups, group dynamics, room size, location and any additional needs are all taken into account when deciding.

My child has additional needs can they still go? Absolutely! Please talk to Mr Harris and/or Mrs Bradshaw (SENDCO) and we can discuss arrangements that can be put in place to help make sure your child can be fully supported to have a really memorable visit.

2019 Residential

Monday 1st July 2019

Year 4 arrived safe and sound and had a lovely lunch before embarking on an orienteering adventure around the grounds of the hall. Only one group got lost! We then settled into our new rooms and went for our evening meal. Then we completed the bottle rocket challenge. After a quick play time, we settled into bed.

Tuesday 2nd July 2019

Some of us overslept this morning and were nearly late for breakfast! We got ready for our epic hill climb. We climbed to the top of Bunster Hill. In the afternoon, we took part in lots of different art activities around the site. After tea, we made bead dragonflies and then had playtime before bed.

Wednesday 3rd July 2019

Today, nobody was up bright and early. We had to pack away our luggage and strip the beds. Breakfast was again very nice. We worked as teams to complete different challenges. Some were very tricky. We enjoyed our lunch on the field and our trip to the shop before getting on the coach to come home.
