In the event of closure Y4:
The documents below are to continue the learning that we have started in class and to consolidate understanding.
Children will have brought blank books home today (Wednesday) to do these activities in. It is not expected that these activities are printed, however you can if you so wish and are able to. Answers can be written directly into books.
If you are already at home, please feel free to use a notebook or any other books you may have at home.

English
We have started to look at traditional stories and fairytales. Children can write their own stories. This can have any theme. If you would like some ideas, this could be the legend of the Lincoln Imp and turned into a comic with different adventures they might go on!
For grammar and punctuation these will offer some practice:
Theme/Science
This term we have been learning about sound. Children might like to complete a project related to this. You could make a musical instrument from everyday household items or research unusual instruments from around the world.
Some famous scientists we have been learning about this year are:
Jane Goodall, Jaques Cousteau, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell.
Children could create a factfile about each one.
PSHE
BBC Newsround is always a great source of age appropriate news and children should watch regularly. You might like to discuss and reflect on what you have watched.
PE
Children are encouraged to complete thirty minutes of exercise each day. This website might give you some ideas to stay active inside. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers
If children need some extra support with their learning or parents are still at a loss for what their children can do, there are an abundance of maths, grammar and reading materials on educational websites we use in school to resource learning. Free parent accounts can be set up and work viewed / downloaded from www.twinkl.co.uk and www.classroomsecrets.co.uk .
Alternatively there is this list of useful websites.
